Enemies

Enemies refers to the many antagonistic creatures and entities the player will encounter throughout the game.

Retribution adds a handful of monsters to the game, most of which are tied to item mechanics in the mod such as the Baptismal Mechanic.

Bosses and Mini-bosses

Currently, Retribution does not add any true bosses, but does add one mini-boss.

Enemies

Most of the enemies introduced in Retribution are used for special item mechanics. However, the MOD does add a few custom rooms, allowing you to encounter most of these enemies naturally.

Sip
Sip.png
  • Slowly floats towards Isaac.
  • On death, fires a single tear projectile at the player.
Full Sucker
Full Sucker.png
  • Floats towards Isaac, periodically spewing short-ranged projectiles in random directions.
  • On death, explodes into a ring of 8 projectiles.
Full Spit
Full Spit.png
  • Floats towards Isaac, periodically releasing multiple damaging farts.
  • On death, releases three short-ranged Ipecac shots.
Mega Pooter
Mega Pooter.png
  • Floats in one spot.
  • Fires a spread of three blood shots towards Isaac, if he's nearby.
Spew Fly
Spew Fly.png
  • Floats around the room in a zig-zag pattern.
  • On death, explodes into a ring of three projectiles.
Kaboom Fly
Kaboom Fly.png
  • Floats around the room in a zig-zag pattern.
  • On death, explodes and releases a ring of 6 projectiles.
Bloated Fly
Bloated Fly.png
  • Floats around the room in a zig-zag pattern.
  • On death, explodes, releases a ring of 8 projectiles and spawns a Drowned Charger.
Spirit
Spirit.png
  • Floats around very erratically, while occasionally firing a spread of three oval-shaped projectiles towards Isaac.
  • On death, drops a single Soul Heart.
  • After a while, flees the room permanently.
Lifeseed Spirit
Lifeseed Spirit.png
  • Floats around very erratically.
  • After a while, flees the room permanently.
Viscerine
Viscerine.png
  • Orbits around enemies, boosting their health.
  • When the orbited enemy dies, Viscerine dies with it.
Curdle
Curdle.gif
  • Moves around through short, quick dashes.
  • Occasionally fires a single projectile in a random direction.
  • Exists in three variants: I. Blob, Clotty and Clot.
    • These variants are purely cosmetic and do not change Curdle's behavior.
Mega Clot
Mega Clot.png
  • Slides around the room, leaving a trail of black creep.
  • Occasionally jumps in place, releasing a ring of six tar projectiles.
  • On death, splits into two Clots.
Stumbling Boil
Stumbling Boil.png
  • Wanders around aimlessly, frequently spewing out small volleys of blood projectiles directed at Isaac.
Stumbling Gut

  • Wanders around aimlessly, frequently spitting out Ipecac shots towards Isaac.
Stumbling Sack

  • Wanders around aimlessly, frequently spawning Spiders.
Walking Blue Boil

  • Wanders around aimlessly, occasionally shooting single blood shots at Isaac, sometimes firing a spread of three shots instead.
Stumbling Blue Boil

  • Wanders around aimlessly, frequently shooting a spread of three blood shots at Isaac, sometimes firing a spread of five shots instead.
Pinhead
Pinhead.png
  • Burrows in and out of the ground in random locations, firing a line of three shots at Isaac, if he's in line of sight.
Pinprick
Pinprick.png
  • Burrows in and out of the ground in random locations, firing a rotating ring of five purple flames that travel outwards and then return to the worm.
Drowned Maggot
Drowned Maggot.png
  • Crawls around the room randomly.
  • On death, releases four blood shots in diagonal directions.
Drowned Spitty
Drowned Spitty.png
  • Crawls around the room randomly, periodically spitting blood shots in front of it.
  • On death, releases four blood shots in diagonal directions.
Drowned Conjoined Spitty
Drowned Conjoined Spitty.png
  • Crawls around the room randomly, periodically spitting blood shots in front and behind of it.
  • On death, releases four blood shots in diagonal directions.
Drowned Grub
Drowned Grub.png
  • Crawls around, similarly to Larry Jr.
  • When lined up with Isaac, will charge towards him until it hits a wall.
  • On death, each segment will create a small burst of short-ranged arcing blood shots and spawn a random drowned maggot variant.
Huskie
Huskie.png
  • Floats around the room in a zig-zag pattern, periodically spewing out a small volley of blood shots towards Isaac and spawning 1-2 Dart Flies.
Wall Writhe
Wall Writhe.png
  • Crawls along one of the walls, trying to line up with Isaac.
  • When lined up, fires a disorganised volley of blood shots that create puddles of red creep.
Blind Writhe

  • Crawls along one of the walls randomly.
  • Periodically fires a spread of five blood shots in front of itself.
Rage Writhe
Rage Writhe.png
  • Crawls along one of the walls, trying to line up with Isaac.
  • When lined up, fires a wide Brimstone beam in front of itself.
Dripling
Dripling.png
  • Moves around the room by performing quick, short dashes in random directions.
  • On death, leaves a puddle of brown, slippery creep.
    • If poisoned, will leave a puddle of green creep instead.
Dropling
Dropling.png
  • Perodically performs a long charge towards Isaac, bouncing off walls and leaving a trail of brown, slippery creep, followed by a second charge shortly after.
    • If poisoned, will leave a trail of green creep instead.
  • On death, splits into two Driplings.
Dank Dropling
Dank Dropling.png
  • Perodically performs a long charge towards Isaac, bouncing off walls and leaving a trail of black, slowing creep, followed by a second charge shortly after.
  • On death, splits into two Clots.
Drossling
Drossling.png
  • Slides around the room, leaving a trail of brown, slippery creep.
    • If poisoned, will leave a trail of green creep instead.
  • Periodically jumps in place spawning either two Driplings or two Corn Mines.
  • On death, splits into two Drosslings.
Buttmuncher
Buttmuncher.png
  • Roams around the room, trying to follow Buttlickers or other Buttmunchers, while leaving a trail of slippery creep.
  • On death, spawns a Corn Mine.
Circe Swine
Circe Swine.gif
  • Roams around the room harmlessly, does not deal contact damage.
  • Comes in 6 color variants.
