Thorn Ring is a trinket added in The Mammon Update.
Effects
- Grants a 3% chance to fire a thorn tear that instantly freezes enemies.
- If Isaac has more than 3 hearts of health, he will take damage every 30 seconds. After taking damage this way, the chance to fire a thorn tear increases by 7% for 3 minutes.
- These boosts stack, allowing a maximum thorn chance of 45%.

- Thorn Ring is a reference to the weapon of the same name found in Chapter 2 of DELTARUNE.
- Noelle, a character that joins the protagonist's party during Chapter 2, can obtain and equip the Thorn Ring in the "weird route", a secret and convoluted path the player can take through making a series of specific actions. This weapon allows Noelle to use a spell called "Snowgrave" on another character named Berdly which freezes him in an ice crystal, presumably killing them.
- While Noelle has the Thorn Ring equipped, she gains the title "Ice Trancer" in the in-game menu, which is referenced in Thorn Ring's flavor text in Retribution. In battle, Noelle will also start to lose health over time, an effect which is also paralleled by the trinket.
