Bucket of Blood is a passive item added in the initial release of Retribution.

Effects

• Grants 3 Red Heart containers, then rerolls all of Isaac's hearts in his health bar into a random assortment of Red Heart containers, Soul Hearts and Black Hearts.

Notes

• Bucket of Blood has a 1/4 chance of replacing IV Bag or Blood Bag when it drops from a Blood Donation Machine.
  • This will still occur for Keeper, Tainted Keeper, or The Lost with Birthright, who are all normally unable to find Bucket of Blood.

Interactions

• File:Alabaster Box.png Alabaster Box: Any Hearts that would be rerolled into Soul Hearts or Black Hearts will instead be converted into as many charges available in Alabaster Box. Rarely, this is capable of killing Isaac, but this will become more likely the less amount of health he has prior to picking up Bucket of Blood.
• Bethany: Red Heart containers rerolled into Soul Hearts or Black Hearts will be converted into Soul Heart charges. This will effectively remove health from Bethany, and can rarely kill her similarly to Alabaster Box.
