The Pig Bang is an active item added in The Burned Out Update.
Effects
- On use, spawns a small pig with explosives attached to it which slowly chases after enemies. After 5 seconds, the pig will create a gigantic explosion that deals 300 damage and destroys tiles in a diamond shape, similar to a File:Giga Bomb.png Giga Bomb.
Trivia
- The Pig Bang's name is a wordplay on "The Big Bang".
- The Pig Bang is a reference to a meme video of someone rapping alongside stock photos of pigs transitioning to images of explosions.
- The item's flavor text is part of a sound byte "Ah shit, here we go again" used in the video, a line which originates from a scene in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which had originally became its own meme.[1]
- The sound the explosive pigs make before detonating is directly ripped from this video.
- RENREN, the composer of Retribution's custom treasure room jingles in The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+, posted a video in March 24 2022 titled "Humane Slaughtering Act" which uses the audio from the original meme video edited to clips of
Mammon and File:Circe Swine.png Circe Swine dying to explosions.[2]
- The 4 varieties of pig spawned by The Pig Bang are named after the pigs from the novella Animal Farm by George Orwell.
