Wax Wing is a passive item added in the initial release of Retribution.
Effects
- +0.6 tears.
- +0.3 speed.
- +2 luck.
- 1.35× damage multiplier.
- Grants flight.
- All of the above bonuses are removed upon taking damage and Isaac is teleported to the starting room of the floor.
- Sources of self-damage such as File:Blood Donation Machine.png Blood Donation Machines,
Curse Room doors, and
Sacrifice Room spikes will not break Wax Wing.
- Wax Wing is regenerated when entering a new floor, and its stat changes are restored.
- When taking damage in a
Boss Room, Isaac is instead teleported to the entry door and the fight is not interrupted.

Interactions
Wax Wing: Adds additional stats while the wings are intact, but does not provide additional hits before the wings are broken.
Wax Feather: Restores Wax Wing and its bonuses immediately on pickup.
Pitch Feather: Restores Wax Wing (if it had been lost) and converts Isaac's wings into Pitch Wings, which act as a shield to protect Wax Wings from 1 hit of damage without breaking.
Black Candle: When entering a new room, so long as Wax Wing hasn't been broken, Pitch Wings will be granted.
Icarus: While sunburned, intact Wax or Pitch Wings will leave a trail of slowing creep.

Birthright: All of Wax Wing's stat increases have doubled strength.

- +1.2 tears.
- +0.6 speed.
- +4 luck.

- Wax Wing is based directly off of the wings of wax used by Icarus and Daedalus in Greek myth.
