Puffstool is an active item added in V3.2.

Effects

• On use, Isaac holds the Puffstool which can be lobbed as a projectile in the cardinal directions, creating a long-lasting cloud of smoke on impact. Enemies that enter this cloud of smoke will become confused.
  • The smoke cloud lingers for 20 seconds before disappearing.
  • The duration enemies remain confused scales with how long they stay in the smoke cloud, with the minimum duration being 2 seconds.

Interactions

• Pullroots: Significantly increases the chance of generating Confusing Pullroots and Slowing Pullroots.

Trivia

• Puffstool's effect is a reference to the Puffshroom from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
  • Puffstool also shares its name with the Puffstool enemy from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.
• Puffstool's sprite resembles the appearance of the Puffstool enemy from the Pikmin series.
• Puffstool was previously a scrapped item that was originally developed alongside Persephone as a part of The Gacha Update.
  • Puffstool would have been an item exlusive to Persephone that boosted the chances of Shrinking Pullroots spawning.
    • Puffstool originally boosting Shrinking Pullroots may have been a reference to The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.
