Pills are a consumable variant that can have their effects mimicked by Placebo.

Joy		"Use it in a pinch"	Instantly ativates the Joyful effect. Using 3 Joy pills within a 10 room period will apply the Addicted pill effect, until that condition is no longer true.
Euphoria		"Use it in a panic"	Instantly activates the Joyful effect twice. Gives the Addicted pill effect for the current room. Counts as two Joy pills for Joy addiction.
Monster Candy		"Tastes like licorice"	Fully heals all friendly monsters.
Whale Pill		"Oh barnacles"	Activates 4 random pill effects at once. 1 or 2 of the activated pills will be horse pills.
Golden Whale Pill		"Oh barnacles"	Activates 4 random pill effects at once. 1 or 2 of the activated pills will be horse pills. 75% chance to not be consumed upon use.

Notes

• All of the custom Pills added by Retribution are only accessible through the effects of various items:
  • Joy is spawned by Joyful, Wunjo, or Wunjo Rune Rocks.
  • Euphoria can be found by upgrading Joy with Empiric, and a single Euphoria is dropped by Wunjo Rune Rocks.
  • Monster Candy is spawned by Monster Candy.
  • Whale Pill and Golden Whale Pill can only be spawned by Empiric.

Trivia

• Joy is a reference to the drug of the same name from LISA: THE JOYFUL.
  • Its pickup quote "Use it in a pinch" is a direct quote from Joy's item description in LISA.
  • Euphoria is not an item present in the LISA games, instead its name simply refers to a more powerful sense of the emotion "Joy".
• Whale Pills are inspired by "The Pill" from Spongebob Squarepants season 3 episode 55b: Mid-Life Crustacean.
  • Whale Pills lift their colour scheme directly from the pill fed to Mr. Krabs by his daughter Pearl (who is a whale).
